本单元内容为人教版精通五下第6单元第一课时。本部分通过人物Gao Wei和他的同学们在操场上观看师生踢足球，打篮球，打排球的真实运动场景，引出要学习的语言目标The boys playing football. The girls are playing volleyball. They are playing basketball. What are you doing? We’re watching the games.通过师生，生生间的对话，让学生能自主感知，模仿，学习和体验，并运用let’s go and watch the games on the playground. They are playing very well.等功能句提出建议，进行评价，在真实语境中交际。

经过四年多的英语学习，该班学生具有浓厚的英语学习兴趣，英语语言基础比较扎实，有一定的听说读写基础和能力，能听懂课堂用语，能和教师进行简单的英语交流，能在教师指导下进行小组合作学习，如表演课本剧，根据课文内容编排简单对话等，学生在四年级学习时已经接触过现在进行时，并且大部分学生能够说出一些球类运动词汇，为本课的学习打下了很好的基础。本节课意在通过进一步的学习，让学生在真实的校园情境中感知和体验复数人称时现在进行时的运用，及一些球类运动的表达，适时向学生渗透运动丰富，生活乐于运动的情感态度。
