一、教学内容分析: 本节课是人教版英语必修二第一单元语言学习，学生们从本节课中更多了解琥珀屋的内容，学习许多相关词汇和短语，通过猜词游戏和短文填空，学习运用新词汇，提高语言运用能力。

通过定语从句语法练习，提高学生对句子理解的准确性，提高语用水平。

二、教学目标

1. 语言目标

a. Words and phrases select, rare, reception, amaze, less than, wooden, in search of, survive, remove, artist, former, at war, design,decorate, style, doubt, fancy, dynasty, worth, jewel b. Important sentences Here are the farmers who discovered the underground city last month. Hangzhou is a famous city in China, where many people come to buy tea. 2. 能力目标

Enable Ss to learn to use words and phrases. By practising they will improve their reading ability.

3. 学能目标

Help students learn how to use words in the passages and how to understand compound complex sentences better. 教学重点

a. Help to use the new words they learned in the previous text. b. Grasp the usage of some words and expressions. c. How to help students understand the Attributive clouse better. 教学难点

a. Help students improve their reading skills. b. Help students really master the usage of words and expressions.

三、学习者特征分析 学生们英语基础比较薄弱，但平时口语训练较多，学生们愿意开口讲英语，小组合作较好，能顺利开展小组活动。但对于本节词汇学习课，学生会觉得仍然难度较大。在设计课文预习作业时，要求学生复习所学的琥珀屋的课文，并学习复述故事内容。

语法学习较为困难，仍需要引导。

四、教学过程

Teaching procedures & ways

Step Ⅰ Revision The purpose of this step is to practise students’oral ability. 1.

Ask some students to retell the story of the Amber Room which they

prepared before class. 2.

Several students are asked to fill in the blanks in the screen so that they can be more familiar with the text. Step Ⅱ Words guessing game The purpose of this step is to introduce new ways to learn English words, also to motivate students’ interest in learning words. The students finish this part in pairs, they can discuss with their deskmates. Words such as select, rare, reception, amaze, less than, wooden, in search of, survive, remove, artist, former, at war are learned in a new way. Step Ⅲ

Complete the passage with the words below rare, designed, decorated, style, doubt, fancy, dynasties, amazing, worth, jewel

The purpose of this step is to let students learn the usages of the words and help to improve their reading skills.

Students are asked to finish the exercise individually. They need to read the passage quickly and fill in the blanks correctly as possibly as they can. At last, the teacher will help the students check the answers.

Step Ⅳ Discovering useful structures The purpose of this step is to introduce the Attributive Clause to the students so that they can understand the sentences better.

Task 1: Introduction Ten sentences are shown in the screen, the teacher gives some explanations to the differences among different relative pronouns and relative adverbs. Task 2: Exercises Let students finish the following five sentences individually Step V Homework 1.

Write a short passage ,telling something about the Amber Room. (less than 150 words). 2.
