I. Analysis of the Teaching Materials This is the last lesson of Unit 2. The pictures about animals are vivid. Based on the knowledge they’ve learned before, students can improve their listening and speaking ability. They can talk about animals, their residence and food what they eat. In Unit 2, students can experience much fun of learning English. They are eager to imitate and act the story. It can activate the students’ enthusiasm. They can participate in different English learning activities. Students can actively cooperate with other members. The content of this lesson is educative, which is about when faced with difficulties, we should be actively to think about different ways to solve them and never give up.

II. Analysis of the Students

After one semester’s learning, students have learned some basic knowledge about English. They are eager to dub and act the story. And students will take an active part in the activities in class. All these are to the advantages of English learning. III. Teaching Aims

1. Knowledge Objects

Students will be able to aurally understand, orally use and recognize the following vocabulary: clever, bad, nice. 2. Ability Objects:

A) Students will be able to understand the whole story by tape. B) Students will be able to read and imitate the story vividly. D) Students will be able to act out the story based on the book. 3. Moral Objects.

When faced with difficulties, we should be actively to think about different ways to solve them and never give up. IV. Teaching Important Points

With the help of pictures and the teacher, students can imitate and dub the story. V. Teaching Difficult Points

1

How to act out the story.

VI. Teaching Approaches In this lesson, my teaching approaches include audio-visual teaching method, communicative teaching method and task-based learning teaching method. And during the process, group cooperation is encouraged. Besides, a computer, a blackboard, and cards are needed as the teaching aids. VII. Teaching Aids Multi-media, blackboard VIII. Teaching Procedures There are nine steps in my teaching procedures.

Step 1. Warming-up.

Sing a song: To the zoo. Step 2. Leading-in. 1. Greeting T: Good morning, boys and girls. S: Good morning, Miss Li. T: Nice to meet you. I miss you very much. S: We miss you, too, Miss Li. 2. Flash cards. There are nine animal pictures. When the teacher say “one, two, three”, students shout out the animal which disappears until there are only three animals: a sheep, a wolf and a monkey, which are this lesson’s protagonists. Then the teacher asks students what happened among them to lead in the story. Purpose: In this step, I want to arouse the students’ interest in this topic and create a relaxing atmosphere to lead in today’s lesson.

Step 3. Listen and say T or F. 1. Watch the story video. 2. Ask students to say T or F. T

(1) The wolf wants Mr. Sheep to pull him out. T

(2) The wolf wants to eat the sheep. 2

F

(3) The monkey helps the wolf. Then, the teacher leads students to correct the third sentence and ask them to read the three sentences together.

Purpose: Through the video and the three sentences, I want to make the students’

have a basic perception about the story. Step 4. Read and number (Student Book: Lesson 12 P29). 1. Ask students to read the story by themselves. 2. Number the three sentences on P29. 3. Check answers. 4. Ask students to read the sentences in the right order. (1) The sheep pulls the wolf out. (2) The wolf wants to eat the sheep.

(3) The clever monkey helps the sheep. Purpose: This step aims to help Ss to clear up the skeleton. Step 5. Read and answer. 1. Lead students to have a general perception of the questions. 2. Ask students to read the story in groups and write down the answers on the paper. (1) How many animals are there in the story?

Three. (2) What are they?

A monkey, a sheep and a wolf. (3) Where is the wolf?

In the hole. (4) Who helps the wolf?

The sheep. 3. Lead students to understand how the three animals are. (1) The monkey is clever. (2) The sheep is nice. (3) The wolf is bad. Purpose: This step aims to develop Ss’ reading comprehension ability. This step is the preparation for the next two steps. Step 6. Fun Dubbing. Following with the video, students dub for the story. Purpose: This step aims to develop Ss’ imitating and reading ability. Through this 3

step, the students can improve and show their tone. Step 7. Role-play. Put on the animal headwear. Three students in one group to act out the story. Purpose: This step aims to develop Ss’ performance

and understanding ability. Based on their own understanding, students can have their own free style to act the story out. The group verses of different forms can activate students’ enthusiasm. Step 8 Emotional Sublimation --- The Crow and The Pitcher After several steps before, most of the students may have no difficulty in understanding the story. So I move to extracurricular development. Lead students to find the common point between the monkey and the crow and understand the conviction.

Then, I conclude it: when faced with difficulties, we should be actively to think about different ways to solve them and never give up. Purpose: Let the students understand the conviction when faced with difficulties, we should be actively to think about different ways to solve them and never give up. Step 9. Homework. 1.Retell the story.

2.Finish the exercise book Lesson12.

Purpose: Consolidate the language points and conclude students’ class performance. IX. Teaching Reflection As a whole, this lesson is more successful. The atmosphere on the class is lively and all the students love to join in. But because I speak a little bit faster, the students need more time to react to my instructions. So next class I need to slow down my speed.
