Teaching steps Step I Speaking 1.Get students to talk about some famous women like Jane Goodall and Lin Qiaozhi..

2.The teacher introduces some great women to the students , ask students if they know anything about them. 3.Ask students to talk about what qualities great women have. 4.Pair work. Ask students to describe a great woman who inspires or encourages them in pairs. 5.Ask some students to report their work. By talking and discussing, students will revise Reading and Using language and have a better understanding of great women.These tasks will prepare students for writing. Step II Presentation 1.Ask students to appreciate a sample , find out the words and expressions they like and tell the reasons why they like them.

2.Analyse the article so that students will appreciate the words, expressions that are properly used, and learn how to write an article about introducing a person. Step III Writing Task 1.Preparation Ask students to talk about how to write an article about a person. Language accumulation background information, qualities, hobbies, education,experience and evaluation. This step is designed to revise and enlarge the students’ vocabulary.These words and expressions are a preparation for writing. Task2 Outline Before writing, ask students to write an outline and the instructions about writing.

The students are required to write an outline before writing. They can briefly write down some key words, sentences, or link words.

Task 3 Group work Divide the students into groups of 4.One student works as an organizer and the other 3 each write a paragraph, Part 1.an introduction of the person
