Watch the video about Australia and have a quiz. 【设计意图】首先采用猜谜的方式自然地导入本节课的主题：Australia，接着通过观看视频和测试题，帮助学生初步了解澳大利亚的概况，并激发学生的阅读兴趣。

Step 2. Pre-reading (2 mins) Glance quickly at the five texts and then match each reading passage with a description below. 【设计意图】在阅读前，让学生判断五个小短文的文体，利于降低阅读难度。

Step 5. Homework (1 min) Write a short passage about Australia. (150 words) 【设计意图】在课堂进行口头介绍澳大利亚的基础上，课后进行笔头书写，利于提高学生的写作能力。

通过本节课的教授，学生深入了解了澳大利亚的概况，包括地理环境、各大城市特点以及人文活动等，同时，学生的阅读能力和合作能力也得到了相应的提高。虽然本节课的课堂教学氛围良好，但仍然存在以下不足点：各个任务安排还不够紧凑，导致最后的环节给学生上台展示的时间偏少；上课提问的问题还不能照顾到不同层次的学生；个别学生的阅读能力仍然有很大的提升空间。以上教学不足点在今后的教学中仍需要不断改进，争取进一步改进自身的教学水平。
