The topic of this unit centers on Healthy eating. Around this theme, this period focuses on speaking and writing. Nowadays , healthy eating habits is a hot topic, which students are familiar with and they are interested in talking about.

Analysis of the students’ characteristics

This unit fits the senior one students. They can understand the importance of keeping a healthy eating habit. They also know more about how to have a healthy eating habit. They have their own ideas about healthy eating.

Teaching goals

Teaching goals: 1.

Students will know how to have a healthy eating habits. 2.

Students will be able to know the structure of a speech. 3.

Students will be able to write a short speech about healthy eating habits.

Teaching main and difficult points

Students will be able to write a composition related to a healthy eating with no grammar mistakes and spelling mistakes.

What is a balanced diet? What is a healthy Answer questions To let students recall the knowledge related to the healthy eating they learned before in this unit.

Teaching steps

Organize students to write their compositions.

Write a composition according to requirements. To practice students’ writing skills.

Activity3. Organize students to modify their compositions. Swap their compositions with their deskmates and modify them

To practice students’ ability to find mistakes they often make in their writing.

Step3 : Enjoying Show students a (8mins) sample of the composition.

Enjoy the sample together, and try to polish their writing again. To enjoy and learn from the sample.

Homework Show students the task after class. Finish and hand in their composition. To finish and modify the writing furtherly.
