O Compare this sentence with another one. He did a good thing. “He” is a subject, so “Wishing for things” is also a subject.

Ask ss to make a sentence using what we have learned. It’s difficult to make friends with them.

Tell them another saying. Making friends with them is difficult. So Do EX2 Let ss think for a while. Then check it. EX3

Let ss join the two halves to make sentences pay attention to the –ing form used as the object. Check it

Then add other verbs also take —ing form as their object. suggest, finish, avoid, stop, mind, enjoy, require, practice, consider, miss, pay attention to, give up, can’t help (禁不住)，

devote……to, look forward to, stick to, be used to(习惯于)，

be busy, be worth, be fond of,. have difficulty trouble/ problem in
