Unit1 How tall are you？

C Story time 一、教材分析

本单元学习的主题是比较人的身高体重。C部分只有story time一个部分，主要以故事来呈现和巩固前两部分所学的知识，复习运用形容词比较级和最高级的用法。C部分的故事讲的是Zoom和Zip招聘足球守门员的故事，它把话题、功能、结构、任务结合起来，让学生完成习得，真正做到学以致用。

二、课堂导入

简单的热身问候后，教师播放一首有关形容词比较级的英文歌，让学生边听边唱。

1.Greetings T:Good morning,boys and girls. Ss:Good morning. T:Welcome back to our class,nice to see you . Ss:Nice to see you,too. T:Do you want to listen to an English song? Ss:Yes. T:Ok ,let’s enjoy it.

设计意图：

在这部分，设计Enjoy an English song 来导入新课，贴近学生心理，激发学生兴趣，既活跃课堂气氛，也让学生轻松自然地进入英语课堂学习。

三、活动设计

活动1 Let’s sing

听本单元歌曲，学生欣赏并尝试跟唱。

设计意图：

轻松活泼的歌曲既能复习之前学习的知识，又能使学生自然地进入课堂学习，活跃课堂气氛，增加学生学习英语的兴趣。

活动2 活动主题：说形容词的比较级。

活动目的：复习本单元的重点内容———形容词的比较级，同时为本课时故事学习提供语言输入。

活动步骤：

说出下列形容词的比较级。

tall---taller big---bigger small---smaller long---longer thin---thinner heavy---heavier 活动3 活动主题：讨论:看图片比较deer, zebra, giraffe的身高，再比较giraffe and hippo谁体型更大。

活动目的：通过多媒体图片（都是文本故事中的动物图）比较这几种动物的身高、体型，为后面的文本故事学习作铺垫。

活动步骤：

Please look at the pictures and fill in the blanks. The zebra is ＿＿＿＿

活动目的：扫描式的阅读让学生快速了解故事主题及主要角色，让学生轻松进入故事情景。

活动步骤：

Look at the pictures and scan the story, find out the pictures in which the animals want to be a goalkeeper. T:What animals can you see? Ss:Deer、Zebra、Giraffe、Dog and Hippo. T:What do they want to be? Ss:They want to be the goalkeeper. 活动5 活动主题：跳读文本，获取文本具体信息，进一步完成习得。

活动目的：跳读让学生快速找到答案，解决问题“Why can Mr hippo be the goalkeeper?”，引导学生说出其他动物不能入选原因，培养学生阅读能力，加深理解文本故事。

活动步骤：

Who do you think can be the goalkeeper? Before answering the question,Let`s solve these problems. T:Which is tall?

S1:Deer. T:Which is taller? S2:Zebra. T:Which is the tallest? S3:Giraffe. T:Why can’t the giraffe be the goalkeeper?

S4:His neck is too long.the others can’t reach him.

T:Who can be the goalkeeper? Ss:Mr hippo. T:Why can Mr hippo be the goalkeeper? Ss:He’s almost bigger than the goal.

活动6 活动主题：细读故事内容，根据原文故事填空，将故事中的对话编为阅读短文。

活动目的：通过不同形式反复阅读文本，由浅入深，由易到难完成相应的阅读任务，提高学生阅读能力，落实了笔头训练。

活动步骤：

Read the story silently and carefully,then fill in the blanks.After finishing it,let’s read the passage.

活动目的：通过模仿表演，内化吸收文本内容，提高学生学习兴趣，教育学生培养健康兴趣爱好，懂得团队合作，深化文本主题。

活动步骤：

Students read the story again,then they choose roles that they like and talk freely in groups.

活动8 活动主题：招聘活动

组建一个足球队，现在想要招聘一名守门员，如何回答招聘信息，请运用本单元所学知识回答。

活动目的：

通过一个招聘活动，即能让学生运用本单元的知识又能提高其参与活动的积极性，能够达到招聘目标。
