Unit 3 Computers Items Analysis of the Details This unit is from PEP edition Book 2 Unit 3. The topic of this unit centers on computer and technology, including the development of computer, the applications of computer and so on. Computer is very attractive to the students. But there are so many basic words Material and phrases for the students to master. The students can learn how to describe their hobbies

about computers by using these words and phrases. Computers make the world smaller. One can gains a lot by using computers. This book fits the senior one students. The advantages of Ss: 1.

They are pretty active about what they are interested in. Analysis of Learners 2.

They are willing to share and demonstrate themselves in public. The shortage of Ss: 1. Owing to the limited amounts of vocabularies , they always have difficulties in expressing thoughts and opinions in appropriate way. 2. Sometimes they devoted themselves to the hot topic which they were enthusiastic about so that they didn’t draw their attention on the knowledge we should learn but just focused on the topic.Teaching Principles

We should remember the main idea about the “Task-based language teaching” and “Situational teaching”. Among each part, “tasks” should be the line of the teaching. In order to complete

the task, we teachers play a role as coaches instead of players. As a result, students are always the dominant role. Just give them an order, a tip, a hint or a suggestion to finish the task by themselves. Provide them more chances to speak and think.A. Knowledge

Step 1

Leading-in

Step 2

Warming up 1. Show a pictures of how the school recorded room works. 2.Encourage students to talk something about computers and technology. 3. Introduce the content: it is necessary to to master some important words and phrases About computers in today’s world. Time: 3 minutes

Intention: 

To lead in the topic. 

To develop their interest in computers .

Step3 Exercise 1 1.

Show some important words and their meanings on the screen. 2.Ask the students to match them.

3.Check and read. Time: 3 minutes

Intention: 

To prepare for their next task.

Step 4 Exercise 2

1.

Show nine sentences with blanks. ( 2minutes) Guide students to go through the nine sentences. 2.

Filling in the blanks. (3minutes) Encourage students to finish the task.. 3.

Check the answers. (5 minutes) Ask the students to tell the answers one by one. 4. Post exercise (2 minutes) Ask Ss to consolidate what they learnt Intension: 
