(Period 1) DESIGN IDEAS The topic of this period is computer ,it is the most of students like talking about .When teaching the new words and phrases ,let the students use can to talk about the advantages of the computer.The dialogue of this lesson is no longer short sentences ,there is some information in it. So guide the students to the text step by step. TEACHING AIMS 1、Enable the students grasp the new words and phrases like email, search, find out about countries ,send, greeting, email my friends, send greetings, look for many things. 2、Enable the students grasp the sentences like: I like my computer. We can email our friends /send greetings /search for a lot of things / find out about countries… on the computer. 3、Students can use can correctly .They can understand and say the dialogue of Part A. KEY POINTS:

Enable the students use can correctly. They can use “I can … /You can …”to introduce the the use of the computer. DIFFICULT POINTS: let the students use “I can … /You

can …”to introduce the the use of the computer. TEACHING PREPARATION : CAI ,pictures,word cards. TEACHING PROCEDURES : Step 1 Warm- up 1、Greetings. 2、Free talk . Step 2 Presentation & drills 1、lead-in: Talk about computers. T:I have a computer . I always prepare the lesson with the computer .What do you usually do on the computer? 2、New phrases and sentences in Part B. (1) New phrases in Part B email my friends send greetings search for a lot of things find out about countries (2)New sentences (a)

Then introduce the listening text: Yesterday was Peter’s birthday. His father bought him a computer. Peter was very happy. He could do a lot of things with his computer. (1)

Listen and watch Then answer the question: What could Peter do on the computer ?

Read the text again and answer the questions. A: Why does Peter feel happy ? B: Will the computer help Peter? C: What did Peter see in a book yesterday? D: Can he find out about countries in the world ? (4)

Read and act Read the text freely, two students in a group, act the story . Step 3 Practice Talk more . For example: A: What can we do on the computer ? B: We can email each other/send greetings to our fiends/search for a lot of things…

T: So we can do many things on the computer. But we can’t play

games too much .We can’t look at the screen for a long time .Because it’s not good for our eyes . Step 4 Homework 1.

Copy the new words and phrases in this unit three times . 2.

Read Part A and Part B twice . 3.

Teaching reflection Some of the students can understand ,speak read and write the new words: email ,search .They can read the phrases email my friends , send greetings ,search for a lot of things ,find out about countries on the computers .It ’s difficult to let the students use “I can … /You can …”to introduce the the use of the computer correctly. The students like this class very much .I think the teacher should guide the children rightly to help them use the computer properly.
