ANDY— THE ANDROID Introduction Language is learned to be used in and for communication. So in this period students will be helped to listen, read, speak and write in English. Most attention goes to reading of Andy—the android. Then they may be helped to make use of the words, expressions, structures and topic ideas covered in this unit to write a short passage.

Objectives 1.To help the students listen and speak about “computer”

Procedures step1. Warming up by talking about IT Computers is the topic this week. And they are a part of IT technology. But what is IT or Information Technology? Information technology (IT) or information and communication technology (ICT) is the technology required for information processing. In particular the use of electronic computers and computer software to convert, store, protect, process, transmit, and retrieve information from anywhere, anytime. step2.listening Listen to the whole text and write down the main idea in one sentence. 1.

Listen to Part A and fill in the chart below. Then do the same with Part B. 2.

Discussion What are the advantages and disadvantages of each form of IT? In small groups discuss this question and put your ideas on to the chart. Then decide when each

kind of IT is most useful. Use these reasoning expressions in your discussion. The advantage / disadvantage is ….
