Look at four pictures on Page 25. What are these people communicating? (1) Acting: First greeting between a Chinese student and a student from Thailand (2) Discussing:

What is the usual way for Chinese people to greet each other? Stage 3 Pre-reading 

How many ways can you think of to greet someone if you cannot speak?

(3) watch a video: greeting people in different countries. (4) Prediction: Look at the picture and the title of the passage on page 26. What do you think the topic will be? (1) Listen to the tape. Match the main idea of each part. (2) Read the passage quickly and find out where the Stage 4 characters come from. Match the characters with their Reading actions.
