学习reading 部分所涉及的重点单词、短语和语法内容,提升学生对词汇和语言使用能力，让学生在用中学,学而能用。

重点难点

在语言使用中,如何正确区分单词各种形式和词性、用法。

approximately, around, roughly 这些副

词均有“大约，差不多”之意。

(1)almost 指在程度上相差很小，差不多。

(2) nearly与almost含义基本相同，侧重指数量、时间或空间上的接近。

(3) about 常可分almost和nearly换用，但about用于表示时间、数量的“大约”时，实际数量可能多也可能少。

(4) approximately 多用于书面语，指精确度接近某个标准以致误差可忽略不计。

(5) around 多用于非正式场合，常见于美国英语。

(6) roughly 指按精略估计，常代替about。

Difficult sentences analysis 1 While Ashrita makes standing on top of a 75 cm Swiss ball look easy, it is not．阿西里塔站在一个75直径公分的瑞士球体上，似乎很容易，其实不然。

句中从句谓语动词makes是复合及物动词，look easy是它的宾语补语。住句not后可以补上easy。

2 You are permitted to rest for only five minutes in every hour of rolling

but you are allowed to stop briefly to vomit．

本句中有个permit sb. to do sth.的动词短语用法，sb.被提前做了主语，因此permitted后面有个停顿，to到rolling也变成了主语补语。同理，并列句后半句中allowed后面也有个停顿，to到句号也是主语补语。
