Teaching goals: 1.

Students are supposed to be able to get the key points in this reading text, i.e. after reading this one they will know better about advertisements and advertising in terms of advertiser, purpose, medium, budget, target, effectiveness, etc. 2. Students will learn some new words and phrases: appeal to, target, feature, fit into, generate.

Teaching a difficult point:

Help the students learn how to talk about advertisements.

Teaching aids: a multi-media teaching platform, a blackboard

Teaching approach: discussing in a group, critical thinking

Teaching procedures: Step 1 Leading-in TASK 1: Work out what the underlined words mean in the given contexts.
