Read the listening text and discuss what content should be included when we introduce a person. Yuan Longping Born on September 7, 1930 in Chongqing, Yuan Longping was from a poor farmer’s family. Having graduated from

Southwest Agriculture College in 1953, he was sent to work as a teacher in the Agriculture School in the west of Hunan. He began his research in rice in 1964. Since then, he has devoted his life to his research. He got the First National Special Prize for Invention in 1981. He is honored as

“Father of Hybrid Rice” (杂交水稻之父)by the international friends.

Famous as he is, he has an ordinary appearance, lives a simple life and cares little about money and fame.

One possible version: Born in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, Lu Xun with the real name Zhou Shuren was a well-Known Chinese writer and thinker. When he studied in Japan in his twenties, he abandoned the study of medicine and began to write. He was recognized as “father of modern Chinese literature”. His novels have been translated into many languages and some have been made into films, such as The True Story of AH Q and The New Year’s Sacrifice. Some of his novels have been collected in high school and college textbooks.

Lu Xun is one of the greatest novelists in China and will be remembered as an outstanding man forever. Step 5
