A Teaching Design for Book 4 Unit 2 Working the land: Language learning

I. Teaching aims and demands: 1. Knowledge objectives: 1). Get students to learn some important vocabulary of this unit by giving definition and paraphrasing . 2). Learn the correct forms of the words in the different language situation. 2. Ability objectives:

Grasp how to use the words and expresses properly.

A computer, some slides and normal teaching tools Ⅶ.Teaching Procedures Step1.Lead-in Review the vocabulary by following the tape for the words and read the passage of the

text fast.

Purpose: Get the students to be familiar with the vocabulary and prepare for the following practice excises.

Purpose: Know the words’ meaning and their function. Task2. Paraphrase 1.

Finish Ex 2 in pairs

Purpose: Learn to finish the difficult task cooperatively.

Task 3. Finish the cloze test. 1.

Go through all the words and make sure to know their meanings. 2.

Read the test fast and try to fill in the blank. 3.

Give the proper forms of the words. Purpose: Further use the new words to master them.

Task 4. Translate

Finish Ex 3 on Page 49. Step3.Quiz

Finish Ex. 1 and Ex. 2 on page 49 in 2minutes and 6 minutes. Purpose: 1). Raise students’ speed of doing exercise.

2). Arouse students’ competitive spirit in learning. Step4.Conclusion Activity :

Present their achievements to the class.
