Teaching Plan Persuasive Writing --- Letter of Advice 江素贞

1. 选用教材为模块一Unit 1 Friendship的Using Language 中的Reading and Writing部分，在Warming up、Reading、Learning about language和Reading and Listening后，是本单元的第四课时。

2. 教材本部分内容为阅读一封来自学生征求建议的来信，然后写一封回信，就来信提出的如何与别交朋友的问题给出建议。

3. 本单元的话题是友谊。在诸多的人际关系中，友谊可以说是学生学习生活的一个很重要的组成部分，因此对于在交朋友的过程中遇到的一些问题，他们应该会有共鸣，因而也会结合自己的经历给出可行的建议。

1. 据了解，学生在九年级已经学习了一些提建议的基本句型，对写信的格式等也有了一定的了解。

但初中学习提建议的话题是亲子关系，而本单元的话题不同，是友谊；以前的学习只是停留在提建议这个层面，而本单元的教学目标除了复习以前的知识，让学生针对问题给出建议外，进一步要求他们对自己的建议的可行性加以说明和解释，使建议更具有说服力。

2. 高一的学生刚刚踏入校门不久，对在新环境中建立友谊的渴望是强烈的。而教材中Xiao Dong不善于与人交流的问题在学生中也普遍存在，怎样解决这个问题也是许多学生所切期待的。此外，学生的生活经验毕竟还比较少，要独立提出合理可行的建议有一定的难度。本课通过小组合作学习，提升学生学习兴趣和主动性，让他们发挥集体的力量和智慧，不但能增强学生间的交流和沟通，而且也为他们建立新的友谊提供帮助。

3. 和初中相比，高中英语学习的特点之一是知识量加大，知识面加宽，英语学习不可能一蹴而就，它靠的是长期的努力。因此，要学好英语，很大程度上取决于良好的学习习惯。然而大部分高一学生还没有养成堂上记笔记、写后自己修改作文等习惯。因此，培养学生良好的学习习惯也是高一英语课的重要内容之一。

1. 知识目标：*进一步了解和掌握提建议的常用句型；

*学会对提出的建议进行解释说明，使建议更具说服力；

2. 能力目标：*在交际和写作中运用所学句型就“如果交朋友”提出合理的、具说服力的建议

*能养成堂上记笔记、自评、互评作文等习惯。

3. 情感目标：通过小组合作学习，让学生学会如何与别人沟通，懂得朋友之间应互相关心、互相帮助，在别人有需要时，给他们提出合理的建议。

（3）引导学生把所学的知识应用到说和写中。

五、教学步骤

Step 1 Revision and Discovery 1

Task Activity Design explanation 通过复习上一节课的内容，帮助学生发现在给别人提出建议时，要阐明这样做的理由或好处，使自己的建议具有说服力。接着同学生一起归纳与此相关的表达，提醒学生做好笔记，为后面的“说”和“写”做好铺垫。

1. Ask them to revise Miss Wang’s advice to Lisa and find out how Miss Wang gives her advice and how she makes her suggestion Revision and persuasive. 2. Help the students to summarize the ways Discovery of giving advice and providing reasons or

explanations .

Step 2 Group Work --- Discussion Task Activity Design explanation Ask the students to read Xiao Dong’s letter 学生阅读来信，明确接下来小组讨论的1. Reading and find out what his problem is. 目的。

1. Divide the students into small groups to have a discussion to come up with some useful advice as well as give some supporting details to make their suggestions reasonable 2. Discussion and persuasive. (Remind them to use the expressions on the Bb and make notes while & Note-taking speaking).

2. Invite some groups to present their suggestions before class. 1.学生通过小组讨论，集思广益，发散思维，能想出更多的合理的建议，为后面的写作任务积累素材，降低写作任务的难度。而在合作和交流的过程中，学生也能增进彼此间的友谊。

2. 让学生分享小组讨论的成果，进一步开拓学生思维。

3. 提醒学生收集好的建议，做好记录，为写作积累素材。

Step 3

Writing a letter of advice Task Activity Design explanation 学生虽然学过书信的写作，但并不是每个同学都掌握得十分牢固，因此有必要唤起他们的记忆，使他们学会使用连接词连接多条建议，令所写建议信更有条理，更具逻辑性。

学生独立完成写作任务。在写的过程中，教师提醒学生要运用相关句型和表达，并注意书写的美观和整洁。

3. Invite some students to present their groups’ best letters. 通过让学生对照评价标准，进行自评、互评，培养学生独立修改作文的习惯和能力。在阅读别人作文的过程中，学生会不断借鉴，不断反思，不断提高，同时也会体会到合作学习的乐趣。
