Step 1 wariming up ＆ Review

Greetings:

Free talk: waht did you do last night?

Step 2 Presentation ＆ Practice 1.

Tell your partner ( Discuss in group) Question 1: What animal can run very fast? Question 1: What makes you feel worried?

Show the students some pictures of animals and introduce them: Tell the students which animal run fast Top 1: Falco peregrinus（360km/h）

Top 2: swift（352km/h）

Top 3: cheetah（125km/h）

Top 4: sailfish（110km/h）

Top 5: pronghorn（105km/h）

Top 6: dorado（100km/h）

Practice reading

Task 1 The first time reading----Look through the text and find the main sentences to number the three pictures. Check the answers and listen to the tape. (Pay attention to the pronunciation of the words.) Task 2 The second time reading----Read the text carefully and answer the questions: Question 1: Why was Wu Yifan worried?

Question 2: What happened when Robin gave him some water? Question 3: Why did he wake up? Task 3

The third time reading----Read the text carefully and underline the Past Tense Verbs. Write down the room form of the verbs. Let some students write down on the blackboard. 3.

Explain the text What a dream! Wu Yifan had a race with his father and Max. there were many people there. His father ran very fast, but Wu Yifan could not. There was nothing he could do. He was so worried. “I could run fast at school,”

he thought. “Why am I so slow now?”

Then Robin said, “Drink this!”

and gave Wu Yifan some water. Wu Yifan drank it and suddenly he felt good. He could run fast again.

There was a second race. There were many animals in that race. Wu Yifan ran like a cheetah. He could win the race! But suddenly he tripped and fell. Then he woke up. He was in bed. It was all a dream! 4.
