Ⅲ. Analysis of the teaching material:

In this period, we will mainly deal with the words and expressions .The purpose of this part is to give students opportunity to learn and use the important words and expressions. The teacher can let the students look at the pictures to make up the sentences. They will ues them into the passage and try to make up their own stories. IV. Analysis of the students:

Class 30 is the key class in Senior Grade One. Some students in this class do poor in English , however, they show positive attitudes towards learning English. In their daily life, some are shy to open their mouths to speak English. Therefore, this lesson can give them more chances to speak out their English, and put what they have learned into practice. In this way, they can develop their interests in English and make full preparations for the College Entrance Examination.

VII. Teaching methods

Comprehensive teaching, discussing, individual and pair work

（Teaching and learning in different ways. Students use a number of strategies, often simultaneously. The efficiency of vocabulary learning depends on how students combine individual strategies. If students combine and employ individual strategies from different groups they will be more successful in developing the target language lexicon. Thus, the ideal combination would be that of strategies from all four groups.

The teacher should create activities and tasks (to be done both in and outside class) to help students to build their vocabulary and develop strategies to learn the vocabulary on their own. Students experiment and evaluate and then decide which to adopt or reject since strategies are

not intended to be prescriptive.）

Check the words and expressions and pay attention to the pronunciation

Step 3 Explaining the key words and expressions (12mimutes )

Explain the words and phrases to the students in various ways. For example, show them the pictures and have them guess the meaning or make sentences. Besides , show them some sentences and let them guess the meaning of the new words in the sentences. All ways are designed to interest the students to act actively in class. 1.struggle to do sth.
