【教材分析】

本节课是闽教版小学英语第二册Unit 4 Part B。本课要求学生掌握新单词：clock, time, London,

并运用What’s the time? 来问答；重点是让学生学会用英语询问时间。

【学情分析】

本课内容所授对象是三年级学生，他们已经学习了半年的英语，能根据听到的单词识别或指认图片、实物等，能听懂课堂简短的用语和指令，并作出相应的反应，初步具有了一定的英语基础。同时，本课是建立在学生已经初步掌握了时间表达法和数字的基础上，学生对该话题也有着较为浓厚的兴趣。

大灰狼头饰、一个闹钟和几个卡通纸板钟。

【教学步骤】 Step 1 Warming up 1. Greetings. 2. Sing a song：What’s the Time in London? [Purpose] To make Ss feel pleased and satisfied, and attract Ss’ interests in this lesson. Step 2 Revision 1. Review numbers from one to twelve using word cards. （1）Game—Quick response. （2）Game—Guess the numbers. 2. Reveal the topic：Unit 4 Time Part B。 (1) Teacher shows a clock: Guide ss to say the time. (2)Reveal the lesson and learn the word “time”.

[Purpose] Through revision, Ss can consolidate the knowledge they have learned before, and make good preparation for the next learning. Step 3 Presentation I. Words and sentence teaching. 1. Teach “clock” and

sentence “ So many clocks”.

（1）Take out a clock and learn the pronunciation of “clock”. Compare “o’clock” with “clock”. (2) Stick five card clocks on the blackboard and guide ss to say：“One clock, two clocks, three clocks…” Then teach：“Wow. So many clocks.” (3) Teach “So

many…”

and show different pictures to learn “So

many…”Such as：So many pencils. So many apples. 2. Teach words “Beijing and London” and sentence “What’s the time? “

(1)Point to the first clock：“What’s the time?”

Answer by teacher：“It’s twelve o’clock in Tokyo.” Write down Tokyo and explain it. （2）Teach “Beijing, Moscow, Paris and London” in the same way. （3）Game—Read the time by setting the clock .

[Purpose] Real objects and word card used here to teach the new words can help Ss understand better, and attract their interests. II. Text teaching. 1. Sentence “It’s eleven o’clock in Beijing.”

and “It’s three o’clock in London.”

（1）Show the clock of “Beijing” and say ：“It’s eleven o’clock in Beijing.” Write down and teach it. （2）Teach “It’s three o’clock in London.” in the same way. 2. Play the tape of page 25 and Ss follow it. 3. Play the tape twice or more times and Ss read it in different forms: the whole class, one by one or in pairs. 4. Act out the dialogue in groups. [Purpose] Practice makes perfect. The cooperative learning method is useful to train Ss’ ability of communication and cooperation. Step 4. Consolidation.

[Purpose] Chant and game used here not only make Ss relax and keep their interest, but also consolidate the new knowledge. Step5. Extension Learn the basic knowledge of global time zones division and set up the correct view on time. [Purpose] Educate students to cherish time. Step 6. Summary Let the whole class to sum up what they have learned today. [Purpose] From their reaction, I can know the effect of this lesson. Step 7. Homework 1. Listen to the tape and read the text 2. Finish the exercise of the activity book. 3. Play the game “Wolf, wolf, what’s the time?” with family or friends.
