By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:

(1) grasp the new words: hair, eyes, nose, mouth, ears, big, small, long and short and so on.

(2) use ‘ his’ and ‘ her’.

(3) use some of the four-skilled words and sentences to describe people.

(4) praise the things of the others’.

(5) improve the students’ interest in learning English and cultivate their ability of unity and cooperation.

Important and difficult point:

To help the students grasp and use the new words and sentences during appropriate situations.

Teaching procedures:

Step I. Free talk and lead-in

(1) Listen , guess and say.

Step II. Understanding and learning.

1. Word and sentence time

(1) Look at the picture , and learn the new words about appearance.

(2) Learn the opposites and the new sentences according to the pictures. 2. Practice and game time

Describe your friend with the sentences. Quick response.

3. Story time

(1) Watch the cartoon , then answer the question and fill in the blanks.

(2) Watch the cartoon again and circle the key words.

(3) Write and say / Fast reading (To learn and praise the others’ things.).

(4) Choose one way you like to read the dialogue.

(5) Imitation show.

Step III. Expansion

Choose one person and describe him or her .

Step IV. Homework

1. Read the story time .

2. Copy the new words.

3. Say something about your family.
