Teaching procedures: Step 1 Free talk Step 2 Task 1: Listening 1.

Listen to the tape and fill in the missing words. 2.

Check the answers and observe the form of each verb. 3.

Find out the use of verbs in different sentences. Step 3 Task 2: Learn about the use of Verb-ing as subject and object. 1.

Read the sentences in “Study the rule” and make sure of their meanings. 2.

Get students to draw a conclusion about the basic rules according to “Find the rule”. 3.

Finish the exercises in “Apply the rule”. Step 4 Task 4: Introduce yourselves. Step 5 Task 5: Learn more about the use of Verb-ing as object. 1.

Show students some sentences with both Verb-ing form and Infinitive as object. 2.

Find out the rule by reading “Tips”. Step 6 Task 6: Write about a person you love or respect very much. 1.

Get students to look at some pictures and read a sample first. 2.

Encourage students to use Verb-ing forms as much as possible. 3.Share the work in a group.
