Step1. Greeting &lead-in 1. Greet the whole class. 2. Encourage the students to have a free talk about Jo’s experience and make them express their feelings. Step2. Finding out the suitable words (Ex1) First, Invite volunteers to brainstorm the skills of finding out the part of speech. Tips: The beginning of the explanations is “to do phrase”, we should think of a verb.

The beginning is of the explanations “a, an, the, noun”, we shouldthink of a noun. The beginning is of the explanations “(be) done”, we should think of an adjective. Then, ask the whole class to do the competitive presentation. Step3. Completing a paragraph First, ask the class to read the paragraph loudly. Then, make Ss do group work. Ss discuss freely and help each other to

complete the blanks. Last, encourage reporters to share the skills of filling in blanks. Valuable steps for completing a paragraph: Step1: discover the meanings and part of speech of the given words and phrases. Step2: read through the paragraph and get the main idea. Step3: analyze each blank, making sure the context and solutions to filling blanks. Step4: read the complete paragraph. Step4. Matching and making sentences

First, get Ss to do individual work. (They can refer to dictionaries to match the correct phrasal verbs)

Then, get Ss to do group work.(They should make sentences by using these phrasal verbs) Homework Recite some key words and phrases after class.
