Analyzing the teaching material: This lesson is the third teaching period of this unit. In this period, I mainly deal with the grammar—the V-ing form used as the object complement, predicative and attribute. Students often feel the V-ing form abstract and difficult, so it is necessary for me to make the lesson interesting in order to let it easier for students to understand. Therefore, I design some simple exercises using the pictures as a guide, at the same time, I design a speaking task for the students to practise, which can make the teaching content much easier and more interesting to be grasped.

Analyzing the students: Most students in the class think the grammar rules are boring and they are not interested in learning grammar. It is difficult for them to apply what they have learned. In order to make the grammar lesson interesting and easy, I design several tasks according to different students’ level and let them join in the activities to arouse their interest and confidence . Learning aims：

1. Learn the V-ing form used as the predicative, attribute and object complement. 2. Be able to do exercises correctly using the v-ing form. 3. Take an active part in learning English. Teaching important points：

Learn the basic rules of V-ing form used as the predicative, attributive and object complement. Teaching difficult points：

Be able to use V-ing form correctly and freely in describing pictures, making sentences and making a dialogue. Teaching methods: Cooperative learning, Discussing & Practising Teaching aids:

Teaching procedure Step one. Lead-in

Find the following sentences on Page 18, pay attention to the words in red and

translate them into Chinese. 1. You may find it astonishing that Charlie was taught to sing as soon as he could speak and dance as soon as he could walk. 2. He grew more and more popular as his charming character, the little tramp, became known throughout the world.

3.The acting is so convincing that it makes you believe that it is one of the best meals he has ever tasted!

(Purpose: To arouse the students’ interest and lead in the topic of this lesson.)

Step two. Structure:V-ing form used as the predicative! V-ing (动名词、现在分词)作表语: 结构：主语+be(am/is are/was/were)+V-ing

Complete the following sentences using the V-ing form as the predicative !

1. Seeing is believing. 2. Her job is teaching English.

3. What he likes is playing basketball.

4. The film is more interesting/inspiring

than any that I've ever seen.

(Purpose: To deepen students’ abilities of using the V-ing form as the predicative. )

Step three. Structure:V-ing form used as the attribute! V-ing（动名词，现在分词，现在分词短语）

作定语：

结构:

1. V-ing+noun

2.noun+V-ing. Phrases

1. 动名词作定语（仅作前置定语，用于表示用途）

2. 现在分词作定语（单个现在分词作前置定语，现在分词短语作后置定语，强调动作正在进行）

(Purpose :To help students use the V-ing form as the attribute correctly and freely.)

Step four. Structure:V-ing form used as object complement! V-ing 作宾语补足语: see/hear/ notice/ observe/ watch+宾语+V-ing（宾补) Play a game!

Show time! Work in your groups, make a dialogue using the following sentence pattern. Make as many sentences as you can! eg: S1: What did you see yesterday? S2: I saw a man crossing the street. ...... (Purpose :To help students put what they have learned into practice.)

一、教学内容

本节课讲授的内容为必修四第三单元语法--V-ing 在句中作表语，定语和宾语补足语。教学内容主要分为三大板块：第一、V-ing在句中作表语的用法；第二、V-ing在句中作定语的用法；第三、V-ing在句中作宾语补足语的用法。

二、教学反思

本节课的优点：

1.

本节课最大的亮点在于教学内容的设计新颖，教学方法独特，我采用图文结合法讲授V-ing 的用法，同时，设计对话任务让学生学习使用V-ing，这样学生学习语法不再枯燥乏味，学生在愉快的氛围中学习语法，达到学以致用的目的。

2.

本节课我能联系高考讲解V-ing的用法，让学生学习英语语法有清晰的目标。

本节课的不足：1.由于时间紧，任务重，没能给所有学生留有足够的时间进行课堂展示；2.授课过程中，教学进度把握不够轻松自如，有点前松后紧的现象。
