Teaching Content:

Primary English Book 5, Lesson 7

What would you like? Analysis of the Teaching Material: In this lesson students will learn the usage of ‘would like’. The key point of the lesson is the usage of ‘I’d like…’ the topic of the lesson is shopping. The teacher leads to the key sentence through the conversation between Qiqi and Tom: I’d like some tea. What would you like? The analysis of the students:

The pupils are lively, like intuitive image thinking, especially interested in the games, competitions. So the important task of teaching design is to stimulate and maintain the students' interest in learning English. The teaching activity of this course uses flexible and varied teaching method to attract the attention of students, and strive to create the teaching situation in middle school and learning. Teaching Aims 1. Knowledge Object:

(1)Students can listen, speak and read the words: shop/buy/drink/tea/juice (2)Let the students master the patterns“What would you like?”and

“Would you like...”

2. Emotion Object:

(1)Students can use the sentence pattern to carry on the dialogue

performance and the spoken language communication (1). Improve the students’ sense of cooperation and participation. (2).Encourage the students help others. 3. Ability Object:

Let the students use the patterns when they go shopping.

Teaching Important Point:

Understand and master the following sentence patterns. Be able to

make sentences by appropriate words.

B: I’d like... Teaching Difficult Point:

Let the students master how to use“Would like”. Teaching Aids:

PPT, pictures, objects, etc.

Competition Mechanism:

Group A & Group B are competition. Teaching Steps:

Step1.Greetings.

Step2. Warming up

Sing a song.

It’s a Sunny day, Let’s go to the shop, OK? Look! It’s a shop. I’d like a bottle of coke. What would you like?

1. Sentence patterns teaching. Teacher shows the title and writes it on the blackboard.

T: Look at the picture. Who are they? They’re going shopping, too. Now, listen to the tape, and answer the question---What does Lulu want to buy?

Leads to the dialogue:

---I’d like some tea. Teacher writes them on the blackboard. The students read the sentences follow the teacher.

Teacher devides students into 4 groups, then ask and answer. Ask and answer in pairs. Step5. Text teaching Listen to the tape again.

Shopping Time.

Teacher shows a shopping list. Practice the sentences:

Teacher shows a picture of shop. There are many food and drinks. I’d like a cup of tea. Would you like a cup of tea? (T shows a card of tea)
