【主 题】Cities 【课 时】Lesson3 Ⅰ.Teaching aims: 1.Knowledge and skills targets: ①Students can understand the dialogue about introducing places, and complete the reading task from the dialogue. ②According to the dialogue ,students can answer its questions and do hand-writing well. 2.process and method targets:
Students can read the dialogue fluently. 3.emotion and attitude targets: ①Improve ability of get the main information of paragraph. ②let the students complete reading task independently . ③broaden students’ horizon and cultivate students’
view on life. Ⅱ.key and difficult points: 1.
Key points: students can get the key information from the paragraph. Students can understand the word: location, transportation, activities. 2.
Difficult points: students can use the sentence pattern to
express four paragraphs and can make more examples. Ⅲ.
Ⅲ.Teaching steps: A. Read and fill in the chart.
1. warm-up (1) Let’s review words :city, street ,sports centre ,square, hotel (2) Teacher plays song of unit 2.(1st) T: How many places in the song? What are they? S: There are three places in the song. They are park, cinema, toy shop Teacher plays song of unit 2(2nd)
T: where are they? S: They are on King Street. (3) lead students find park, cinema, toy shop in the main scene. T: Are they on King Street? Ss: No. T: Where are they? Ss: They are on Banana Street. T: Where is the subway station? Is it on Banana Street? Ss: It’s on Xinhua Street. It’s next to Sun Hotel.
2.presentation (reading preparation):
Teacher show a picture T: It’s a beautiful city. now you’re a little guide, you’ll show your friend around the city. So please make a table which can introduce it to your friend.

(1) teacher ask students to read the paragraph of sports centre, then circle the name, location, transportation, activities (2) fill in the chart by independently. (3) work in pairs, four in a group, exchange the keys, then use below sentence pattern:

games and swim there. (4) teacher play the recording, students read after it. (read and point) B. read again and write. 1. lead the students understand the question. 2. read four paragraphs again and answer the question. 3.fill in the blanks. Homework: 1.
Make a tour guide table of Chengdu city: contain name, location, transportation and activities. Use places of this unit. 2.
Introduce the places to others.
