Teaching plan Topic :Writing ----Attributive clause in writing

Ⅰ. Teaching Aims

1. Knowledge Objects To help the students review the relative pronouns ,including which, who ,that, whom, where, when, why and have a clear idea of the concept of the grammar item. 2. Ability Objects

To help the students practice the skills at describing the people and further develop the ability in writing especially when the attributive clause is used. 3. Moral Object To help the students form the habit of independent learning and become willing to cooperate with the members in the group activity. Ⅱ. Teaching Key and difficult Points Distinguish the relative pronouns and relative adverb “who, whom, that, which, whose, when, where” and know how to use these in describing a film. III. Teaching Procedures Step 1.lead-in (a guessing game)

1. Show some sentences of the attributive clauses and ask students to guess who they are, such as: He is the tallest boy who is often sleepy

in class.

This boy who is good at math can run very fast…

Step 3. Before writing (Group work) Show the students pictures of the film—Titanic, and give them sentences to describe the pictures by joining the sentences using the attributive clauses.

1. Last night I saw a film .

The film's name is Titanic. 2.The man and the woman are Jack and Lucy .

They are the hero and the heroine in the film.

3. Jack won a ship ticket by playing cards .

He is a poor painter 4. Lucy is a young beautiful woman . She went to America with her mother . 5. Jack and Lucy fell in love with each other. They are strangers. 6. At that time Titanic is the biggest ship.

Jack and Lucy met and loved each other in the ship. 7. The reason is that the ship hit an iceberg.

Titanic sank for the reason. 8. The reason is that he loved her very much . Jack saved Lucy for the reason 9. Lucy will never forget the day. She met Jack on the day.

Step4.While writing. Show the students the structure of the writing, and get them to write. The writing structure: The film I saw last night Para.1

After writing Show some students’ composition to the whole class and ask them to give comments. Step6. Homework
