Introduction Three examples of “Warming Up” designs are offered in this book for teachers’ reference. After the warming up period, students will first be guided to know about “hula hoping”, “jumping jack” and “somersault”. Then they will be helped to read a narration entitled The road is always ahead of you.

It’s a story about an amazing person called Ashrita Furman who likes the challenge of breaking Guinness records. Computer and overhead projector may be used to aid the teaching and learning.

Rewriting the text in your own words with the help of the diagram A possible version for reference "THE ROAD IS ALWAYS AHEAD OF ME" I am a student who likes the challenge of breaking learning records．Over the last 3 years，I have broken approximately 10 learning records．More than 7 of these I still hold，including the record for having the most records in my class．But these records are not made in any conventional events like swimming or racing．Rather I attempt to break records in very English learning events/ and at very interesting times．

Recently, I achieved my dream of breaking a record in all four skills of English communication，including listening to CRI for the longest time at home，speaking English to 100 strangers in the street, reading a novel in 10 minutes in bed，and writing a 300-line English poem on my way to school in 20 minutes．

While these activities might seem childish and cause laughter rather than respect，in reality they require an enormous amount of English knowledge and skills as well as determination．

I always acknowledge my teacher in my record-breaking attempts．In fact．I often wear a T-shirt with my English teacher’s words on the back．The words are：

“There is only one perfect road．It is ahead of you，always ahead of you.”
