一、教学目标与要求

1、通过学习本集故事，复习巩固taller, bigger, stronger......等形容词的比较级形式，以及复习巩固How tall are you? How heavy are you? I’m...... ./ He’s bigger than ...... . 等句型。

2、能基本读懂本课故事内容，并能按照正确的意群及语音语调较流利地朗读。

3、通过阅读本课趣味故事，复习单元所学语言，并增加语言的输入，教会学生简单联系生活、学以致用。

4、通过学习和模仿自编对话，加强相关语言点的掌握，并能完成相关练习题。

5、通过学习

“Football needs teamwork.”，增强学生的班集体观念：To be a better class, we need teamwork.

二、教学重难点

1、重点：通过故事情节，复习巩固本单元的重点单词和句型。

2、难点：能正确、流利地朗读整篇故事，并能联系生活，简单运用本课语言点。

三、教学用具：图片、音频等PPT。

四、教学步骤

（一）Warm-up 1、Free talk 2、Listen and sing the song of Unit 1. 3、Read and remember. ( Review the words of Unit 1 )

（二）Presentation 1、Look, ask and answer. ( Show a picture ) T: ① Who are they? ② Who’s taller? ③ Who’s the tallest? ④ How tall is ......? Ss: Maybe he’s ...... m. ⑤ How heavy is ......? Ss: Maybe he’s ...... kg. ⑥ Who’s the biggest and he can be the goalkeeper? Ss: Hippo is. He’s a big guy.

2、Listen to the story and read. T: The animals are happy today. What are they talking about?

3、Watch the video. Listen again and read after it.

4、Read again and do exercises. （Exercises are as follow:）

（三）Practice 1、Show a new dialogue. Monkey: I'm 1.5 meters tall. How tall are you, Horse? Horse: I'm 2 meters. I'm taller than you. Giraffe: But you are shorter than me, Horse. I'm the tallest. Monkey&Horse: How tall are you? Giraffe: I'm 5.5 meters. Monkey&Horse: Yes! You are the tallest.

Tiger: I'm 15 years old. I'm very very old. Elephant: Tiger, I'm older than you. Tiger: Really? How old are you? Elephant: I'm 70 years old. Tiger: Yes! I'm much younger than you. I'm very very young. Turtle: Elephant, I'm older than you. Elephant: How old are you? Turtle: I'm 121 years old. Elephant: Yes! You are much older than me.
