Teaching aims:
1.Enable Ss to listen ,read and understand the dialogue . 2.Enable Ss to answer the questions of the dialogue. 3. Enable Ss to master the usage of present continue tense. Teaching difficulties:
1.Read the dialogue correctly and fluently ,review and consolidate the usage of present continue tense . 2 Ss can use phone language. Teaching preparements:
Recorder and tape , cards of phrases and pictures , two phones Teaching procedures:

Warm-up and review 1)
greeting as usual 2)
game: finger game 3)
review some phrases of unit 2 For example :How do you feel ? I have a fever ./I have a cold. ……. 2.
Preparation 1)
Let Ss read the dialogue three times after the teacher. Then let Ss read it twice together. 2)
Translate the dialogue together. 3)
Answer some questions of the text. a.
What is Zhang Peng doing? b.
Is John dancing?
c.
Are Mike and Chen Jie dancing? d.
What is Ed doing? e.
What are Amy and Wu Yifan doing? Check the answers. 4)

Extention: Show time 1)
Using main sentences (phone langue and resent continue tense)to make new dialogues . Make a model firstly and then let Ss practice them with their partners. 2)
Show some dialogues . For example: A:Hello,who’s that? B:Hello, this is ….speaking. What are you doing? A:I am ……What are you doing? B:I am ……See you later. A:Good-bye. 4.
Homework 1)
Make some sentences with present continue tense. 2)
Try to call you friends in English and write them.
