高二年级 郝晓萍 Unit Computer Period 5 Using language Reading Speaking & Writing

Designing purpose: As is known, give a man a fish and he eats a day; teach a man how to fish and he eats for a lifetime. The period is designed in the way of task-based approach with the purpose of guiding the students to read and write by completing kinds of tasks so as to learn to write by mastering relevant writing strategies, especially the structure as well as the expressions to be used. Through the activities, the learners can clearly accomplish their writing about the android they have imagined. Material analysis: The material is in Unit 3 Book2 published by People’s Education Publishing House. After reading about the development of computers, the learners have realized the importance of the computers in daily life and their future development, which has inspired and prepared them to learn more about computers and have the desire to own one. The reading is to introduce students to the android in the football team. The speaking as well as writing is activated to train students creativity and writing abilities to describe their own desire and ideas. Learning Goals: 1. To read the story about Andy. 2. To discuss and create an android. 3. To write the android and share. 4. To develop creative and critical thinking towards applications of computer technology. Important points: To read the story and know about their abilities and get ready for the writing task.

Difficult points: To create one’s own android and write about the android..

Learning procedure:

Step 1. Warming -up

Activate students’ t stored knowledge by talking about the function of computers in daily life. 1

Purpose:

To brainstorm as much as relevant information and to arouse the desire to know more.

Step 2. Pre-reading Have a glance of the title and the picture to guess what the android will do in the reading.

Purpose:

To raise interest and get the desire to know more about

the reading and the android.
