to improve students’ ability to find out key information in a passage;

to develop students’ ability to explain reasons for things;

to develop students’ ability to write short biography. Teaching procedures: Step 1. reading 1)

give a brief introduction to some famous athletes; the focus should be on their achievements and their hardworking; 2)

ask students to scan the text and get the general idea of this text; 3)

teacher hands out a paper on which is the table below and asks students to fill in it;
