This is the common science class that consists of 23 girls and 20 boys. Most of them are from the countryside. They are lack of geography knowledge and the cultural background of those foreign countries. 2.

As for the learning methods, the students are poor in cooperative learning skills. Some students are not active in the class, and some students don’t like English.

Analysis of the textbook：

The passage describes a trip across Canada by train. The name of the train “the True North ”is taken from a line in Canada’s national anthem. eaching goals 教学目标

Step1. Revision（2mins）

Step2.Lead-in(3mins) 1. To let the Ss enjoy a short film of Canada and then talk in groups about what you know about Canada. Purpose: to arouse the Ss’interest of study and bring in a new subject Step 3.Fast reading(5mins)

To ask the Ss to read the passage quickly and finish some exercises.(Individual work) Purpose: to train the Ss’ fast reading skills to improve the Ss’reading ability. Step 4. Careful reading(18mins)

To ask the Ss to listen to the whole text carefully paragraph by paragraph to locate particular information and finish the exercise some exercises.(In groups) Purpose: to improve the Ss’ reading comprehension. Step 5.Summary(11mins)

To let the Ss fill in the blank to get an expression of the general idea of the text.(In pairs) Purpose: to let the Ss understand the passage better. Step 6. Homework(1min)

Read the passage loudly, paying attention to pronunciation and intonation. 2.

Write a dairy about your future trip abroad in 80 words. You can make up your own plans for the trip. 3

Purpose: to consolidate the knowledge the students have learnt and improve the Ss’

满意之处：本节课的教学内容是学习unit Five的Reading部分，该部分的知识容量较大，所以在课前做了充实的准备，认真钻研教材，确定教学内容。我采用任务型教学法来设计这一节课，整节课我运用“总-分-总”的阅读思路以及分组讨论的形式，旨在通过文章阅读的训练，让学生基本掌握阅读微技能（寻找文章大意，略读，找读，预测，理解大意信息等），所设计的练习形式也多样化，尽可能接近高考新题型。目标明确，重点突出，过渡自然，内容丰富，设计比较完美，课堂活动形式多样。在教学过程中，我努力运用全英语的课堂教学用语组织教学，给学生创设一个听英语、说英语的环境，鼓励学生积极的投入到学习当中，创设良好的课堂氛围，整节课自始至终我保持面带微笑，采用激励机制，发现学生的闪光点，我使用不同的鼓励话语大力表扬他们，比如：Good job！ Well done！Excellent！ Perfect!等等，让学生不断感受到自己学习英语的成就感.从整体来说，本节课的教学效果达到预期的教学目的。

不足之处：本节课值得改进的地方是：1、分组讨论可以进一步改进，以避免以偏概全。2、设计练习还不够完美，可适当增加多样题型。
