Step2: Enjoy short jokes 1.

Show three short jokes 2.

Step3: Reading

1.

Read for information Who are mentioned in the story? Where were they? What happened in the story? What is the punchline? 2.

Infer Sherlock’s and Watson’s character.

设计意图：通过阅读，学生能够获取相关显性信息，训练学生收集文中浅层信息的能力；在获取文中显性信息的基础上，锻炼学生深入思考问题，总结归纳的能力，为引出英式幽默作铺垫。

Step4: English Humour Play three short videos to explain what is English humour 设计意图：用视频植入的方式，让抽象的知识变得具体又生动，易于学生理解，从而感受文化差异。

Step5: Brainstorm 1. The students will be able to think of a funny English or Chinese story;
