Teaching Aims:

1. Improve the students’ reading ability by reading. 2. Train the students to care about the Olympic Game in 2008 and

take an active part in sports. Teaching Important Points: 1. How to improve the students’ ability to read an article.

2. How to grasp the main idea of each paragraph. Teaching Difficult Points: 1. How to understand the passage better. 2. How to improve the students’ reading ability. Teaching Methods: 1. Questioning-and-answering activity to get the students to know something about the Olympic Games. 2. Fast-reading to get the general idea of the text. 3. Listening to the text to help the students understand the history of the Olympic Games better. 4. Careful-reading to help the students understand the

detailed information in the text. 5. Individual work, pair work or group work to make every student work in class.
