本课选自《新标准英语》三年级起始三年级下册Module2Unit2 That man is short.本单元主要学习运用恰当的形容词描述人或某物的特征。学习几对反义词：tall-short, bigsmall,fat-thin. 教学目标

一、知识目标

词汇：tall, short, big, small, fat, thin, big and fat 句子：This monkey is small and thin. 二、能力目标

1.能灵活运用This/That … is tall/ short/ big/ small. 2.描述某人/物的特征。

三、情感目标

1. 培养学生爱护小动物的美好品质。

2．通过学习，树立学生学习英语的自信心和团结合作的能力。

教学重点、难点 1.重点: （1）学习并掌握单词tall, short, big, small, fat, thin, big and fat （2）掌握句型 This/That … is tall/ short/ big/ small. 2.难点：

（1）掌握 big and fat, small and thin

教学过程

Step1. Warming-up and lead in . 1、Greetings. 2、找两个学生（一胖一瘦）到前面来，引出fat and thin. T: He’s fat .He’s thin. Guess what’s meaning ? Ss: 他是胖的。他是瘦的。

T: 非常好，今天我们学习Module 2 unit 2 That man is short.(板书)。领读课题。

Step2.Presentation 1、出示高矮的图片。

T: This giraffe(长颈鹿) is tall. That giraffe is short. 学习单词tall and short . 出示胖瘦、大小的图片。用同样的方法学习单词

fat,thin,big,small. 2、出示单词卡片，学生一起认读单词。找两个学生领读单词。

3、找翻译词。说一说。

4、Learn sentences. (1)T: 出示图片。Look at the trees .This tree is tall. That tree is short . (2)出示图片。找学生说句子。

This monkey is thin. But that monkey is fat.

This ball is big . That ball is small . (3)出示图片。

T:look at the pandas . This panda is big and fat .(又大

又胖)That monkey is small and thin .（又小又瘦）

（4）根据例句说句子。用两个形容词来形容人或物。找学生说

句子。给予鼓励。

Step3. Practice. 小组合作探究。用句型向小组成员们介绍人或物品的特征。然

后汇报结果。
