Teaching Procedures Step 1 Leading in (about 7 minutes) T：You have been classmates for a year. But do you know each other well?

Ss: Yes!/No!/Maybe. T: I will show you a video about your school life to remind you of the time you have been together. After watching the movie, let the students have a Guessing Game. The teacher shows photos of the classmates and students guess the name. The teacher will ask: Who is the tallest one in your class?

Who runs the fastest?

Who jumps the highest?

Who is the friendliest?

Who is the funniest?

Who is the most hard-working? …

Object：Preview the knowledge of superlatives.

Step 2 3a (about 15 minutes) First, the teacher shows the students about the regular and irregular rules of the superlatives of the adjectives and adverbs.

Second, students do some exercise. The teacher should allow the students to think for one minute. Then ask them to share the answers. Third, learn about the grammar focus on page 27 of the student’s book. Read the sentences aloud together. Pay attention the all the superlatives. Fourth, learn about the important usage of the superlatives of the adjectives and adverbs. Then finish 3a on page 27. After that, ask them to share the answers. Students should read out the whole sentences.

Attention: Some students may make mistakes on the irregular words. The teacher should emphasize the rules.

Step 3 A Lucky Game (about 5 minutes) Play an interesting game. Students choose a number and answer some questions. If their answers are right, they will get some marks. The game will be exciting and one student will be the lucky star. And they will master the rules and usage of the superlatives better.

Step 4 Group work

(about 10 minutes) T: Now I will divide six students into a group. You need to introduce the people or things around you, using superlatives. You have to use comparatives and superlative during this progress. The more superlatives you use, the more marks you will get. After 5 minutes of discussion, the group leaders will share their opinions with the whole class. Aims: Share opinions with our classmates about the most...things in our daily life. To tell the students that the best people and best things are always around us!

Step 5 Summary (about 2 minutes) T：Today we have learned the rules and the usage of the superlatives. You need to remember them. We also share our opinions about the best people and things around us!

Step 6 Homework (about 1 minute) T：Please finish the exercise in your exercise book.
