What do you plan to watch tonight? You can learn some great jokes. 2.Master the grammar:infinitives used as objects. 3.Learn to express preferences and make plans. Ask the students “What do you want to do on Saturday?”

Tell the students“I want to go to watch a game show on Saturday.”Show

some pictures of TV shows and ask “What kind of shows is it?”Repeat with

the students.Call the students’

attention to the plural forms the kinds of

shows.

Then show the sentences in the box on the screen,ask students to read

them loudly in pairs and underline the infinitive in each sentence.

After that,invite some pairs to read the sentences for the class.

Call attention to use of the infinitives,explain the grammar.

Give students several minutes to talk about TV shows in pairs freely.

As they work,move around the room checking the progress and offering

language assistance. StepⅢ

Practice 1.Activity 3a.

First,lead students to have a look at the instruction to know what to do and

how to do this activity.

Then divide students into pairs to complete the conversation.

Give students three minutes to do it,as they work,move around the room

and offer assistance as needed.

Finally,invite a pair of students to present the conversations. Correct

mistakes if any. 2.Activity 3b. First,lead students to have a look at the questions. Give them several minutes to think about the answers.

Then divide the class into pairs to make conversations,one ask,the others

answer,exchange the roles later. As they work,move around the room offering help as needed. Finally,invite four students to answer the questions. The answers may vary.

Teach Activity 3c.

T:Since there are many kinds of shows on TV,what’s your favorite?What

do you think of them?Now,we will do a simple investigation.You can take

the conversation in the speech bubbles as a sample.Do it individually.You

can walk around the classroom for the investigation.Are you clear?

Give students enough time to do this task.

As they work,move around the room checking the progress and providing

language support as needed.

Finally ,collect the work and ask some volunteers to present their results.

Find out which show is the most popular one,and which one is least
