Anlu Yundong School Zheng Zhong Ⅰ. Analysis of the teaching materials and the students It is the writing part of Unit4, Grade 8 of Go for it. The language goal is to review the superlative forms of adjectives and adverbs. Students should know how to use superlatives to talk about their hometown and write. After studying target language, students should be able to master the rules of superlatives and know how to write by using superlative degree. The theme of this lesson is “Amazing Anlu”, which is closely related to the environment they live, so it’ll be a good chance for them to get familiar with the topic and show their love towards their town.

Ⅱ. Teaching aims 1. Knowledge aims

(1) Function: Describe a place with superlatives. (2) Key words and phrases: crowded; creative; street performers…; (3) Structure: the + superlative; V. + (the) superlative. 2. Ability aims (1) Be able to talk about something about our hometown; (2) Master more writing strategies; (3) Learn to use superlative degree to write a good composition with some linking words and phrases about our hometown. 3. Emotion aims (1) Encourage students to share their favorite places with their friends; (2) To show their love to our country as well as our town; (3) To let students have confidence and feel proud of their town.
