Unit 9 Can you come to my party?

Section B (1a-1f) 一、教材的地位及作用

本课选自人教版义务教育课程标准实验教科书，英语八年级上册第九单元，本单元主要学习邀请的表达法，学会向别人提出邀请，接受，或婉言拒绝别人的邀请，学会谈论自己的计划安排。本课时，围绕邀请和请求许可这一话题，设计了三个任务性活动，第一，实例对话展现提出，和接受邀请及拒绝邀请的英文表达，第二，通过句型练习，对话，询问学生拒绝做某事的原因，第三听力练习，对话练习，第三人称的用法，巩固所学，单词和句型。通过这三个任务型的活动，使学生掌握提出邀请，接受邀请，拒绝邀请，并说明理由的表达方式。

二、学情分析

本单元的主题是发出邀请，接受邀请及拒绝邀请，围绕这一主题进行一系列交际活动，使学生熟练掌握以can开头的一般疑问句，并正确使用，表示接受拒绝和邀请，在此之前学生已掌握，用法，所以这些对学生来说并不难，比较容易掌握。

一、教学目标：

三、教学步骤

师生问候，回顾单元主题

II. New words

介绍本节课学习目标。

Be polite when communicating with others.

2. Know how to make, accept and refuse invitations properly. III. Work on 1a and 1b. 1.

Students take today for an example, then finish the dates in the calendar. 2.

Put the new words in 1b into the calendar. 3.

Try to put weekday and weekend into the calendar.

IV. New words. 1.

Draw a timeline. Then students complete the timeline.

Students will know the words about time can be remembered in rules. 3.

Group discussion. Students will discuss in group of four to analysis the different methods of remembering the words. For example, they can remember the words of different colors, different word groups. Any idea is acceptable if reasonable. V. Work on 1c Explanation What’s today?

What’s today?意思是“今天几号，星期几？”。如：

Work on 1d: 1. Tell Ss to listen to PWX and ZKH’s conversation. Then circle Yes or No.

2. Play the recording for the Ss. Ss just listen for the first time. Play the recording again and circle.

3. Play the recording and check the answers with the Ss.

1. Tell Ss they'll listen to the tape again. Then try to match Vince’s activities with the days in 1d.
