Through a picture of TFboys , ask students to call them and invite them. Let them recall two sentences: A

What day is it today?

B

What’s the date today? Ⅱ

Present

How to get the two answers by only one question? Show them the sentence “What’s today?”

And tell them how to answer it. “It’s Thursday the 11th.”(星期加日期)

Then finish a calendar in 1a.. After that lead them to read.

If we call Thursday the 11th today, how about Friday ?... Show the words on the calendar: today , tomorrow, yesterday, the day before yesterday, the day after tomorrow, Ⅲ

Ask and answer

Work in pairs ask and answer.

Pre-listening

Show the words on PPT again, they will find there are two more words “weekday and weekend”

.let students guess the meaning of the two words. By asking them “Do you like weekdays or weekends?” and “What are

you going to do this weekends?” , I can tell them what I am going to do this weekends. Then I will show them to phrase “look after” and “study for a test”. So “You are busy, I am busy and Vince is busy, too.” Show a picture to them and introduce Vince to them. Ⅴ

While-listening

1 Listen for the first time and find out “Can Vince play tennis with Andy?” Then check the answer. 2 Then listen carefully and do the work in 1e. The video will be played twice. Then check the answer together. Ⅵ

Post- listening

1 Let students read the tape scripts and understand the meaning.

2 According to the listening fill in the blanks.

3 Role play the conversation. Then ask some group show themselves.

4 According to the conversation make their own conversation. Then let some group to show their conversation to the whole class.

5 Free talk

Let one or two students choose one of his/ her classmates to make an invitation.
