Step 1 Revision Ask students to talk about what they were doing last night in groups of four then give a report.

Step 2 Role-play Work on 2d 1. Listen to the conversation and answer the following questions. What was Linda doing at 7:00 last night? (helping mom in the kitchen) What was Linda doing at 8:00 last night? (taking a shower) What was Linda doing at 9:00 last night? (sleeping) 2. Role-play the conversation.

3. Talk about

what you were doing at 7:00 / 8:00 / 9:00 last night in pairs.

Step 3 Reading (3a) 1. Ask the students to look at the picture in 3a and think about what has happened 2. Read the passage quickly and answer the following questions. 1) What was the weather like before the heavy rain started? 2) What was the neighborjhood like after the storm? 3. (3b) Read the passage carefully and complete the sentences using information from the passage. 4. Explain some language points.
