本课选自外研社2011课标版三年级起点三年级下册Module2 Unit2 That man is short.本单元主要学习运用恰当的形容词描述某人或某物的特征，并掌握三对反义词：tall-short, big-small, fat-thin. 教学目标

能听、说、读单词man、short、tall、small、thin、big. 掌握语言：

教学过程：

Step1. Warming-up. Greeting: T: Hello, boys and girls. Nice to meet you. Ss: Hello, Ms Zhang. Nice to meet you,too. T：Are you ready for the class? Ss: Yes, I’m ready. Step2. Lead in T: First, let’s have a review. Here I have some pictures. What are they? (用PPT出示一些动物图片，让学生练习用上一单元学过的句型“They’re...”回答，复习旧知导入) T: Now look at this picture. Who’s this?(出示姚明的图片）

Ss: Yao Ming. T: Yes. He’s very famous, because he’s very... （配合肢体语言，引导学说出tall这个单词) Ss: Tall. T: But that man is short.（出示姚明和另一个男人的高低对比图片，引出本课标题）

Step3. Presentation.

课件出示图片，先让学生说出图片中人物和动物的特征，如tall, short, big, small, fat,thin等。再让学生练习用如下句型“This man is tall. That man is short .”进行具体描述。教师板书重点的句式，并做必要的领读和正音。然后再出示两一胖一瘦的猴子图片，教授“This monkey is small and thin. That monkey is big and fat.”最后通过一个和动物有关的Chant，强化学生对tall, short, big, small, fat,thin这几个形容词的印象。

Step4. Learn the text First, just listen. Now listen and follow. Pay attention to the monkeys. Role play: Pair work, read the text with your partner. One acts Sam, one acts Daming. Practise two minutes. Then groupA and groupB will have a PK. The group acts better will get a star.(把全班分成A组和B组，进行PK) Step 5. Practise
