1.Ask and answer about the date with sentence”What’s today? It’s Monday the 14th”

by reading the calendar; 2.Develop the listening skill of predicting before listening and getting the general idea of listening text ; 3.Decline the invitations politely and euphemistically with the targeted sentences such as:Sorry,but I have to .../Thank you for asking,but I might .../I’d love to,but ...etc. 4. Be aware that it’s OK to say no,but remember to say it politely.

Activity procedures: Stages

Step1(lead-in) To arouse students’ interests and Activity 1

Are you interested the movie?Can you go with me? lead in the topic

play the video about the Godzilla.2.Show the cinema ad.) Activity 2. When can we see the movie? Are you free that day? (Show the calendar ?What’s today?)

Activity 3. Complete the chart (1a-1c) and check the answer(with the targeted sentences).

Step3 While-listening Activity 4.Listen. 1.

Predict if Andy say yes or no. 2.

Listen to get the general idea.(1d) Did Vince say Yes or No? Why he said NO?(Because he was busy and he had lots of activities) Activity 5.Listen again. Match Vince’s activities with the days .

Step3 Post-listening To teach the sentence structure “What’s the day?It’s Wednesday 26th.”

To talk about “the day before yesterday,the day after tomorrow’.

To practice the

If student A is Andy and student B is Vince,make up sentences. the conversation to invite Vince to play tennis. To help students to decline the

2.Ask the partner if she/he can do your favorite things with you. Activity 7:Group- work and do a report. Ask students if they can go out with you on the specific day. Then do a report.
