本单元以invitations为话题，要求学生掌握如何用Can you…?结构，在日常生活中发出邀请并能根据实际情况接受或拒绝，进而实现对目标语言的运用。

本课第一部分围绕思维（1a），听力（1b），会话（1c）三方面对Can you…?句型进行训练.第二部分在对情态动词的用法进行训练(2a)的基础上,介绍回答目标语言的不同方式(2b),2c部分的绘画训练则是对目标语言的综合运用。本课在单元中起着承前启后的作用。

学生总体基础良好，思维较活跃，现阶段听、说、读、写能力均有一定的提高。大部分学生能够较流利地用简单的英语表达意思，能听懂教师的要求与意图。普遍具有团队合作意识。但学生总体水平发展不均衡。
