Teaching procedures: Step I Lead in 1.

Te: Today is a nice day, isn’t it? So what do you want to do today? Do you want to listen to music? OK, let’s go to listen to music. (play the video) 2.

Te: Do you know the name of this song? Yes, it’s “Are you sleeping?” So, are you sleeping now? –No, I’m not.

Lead-in the title of this unit. Te: Show a picture to ask student 1 : What are you doing in the picture? –I’m watching TV.

So, today we are going to talk about unit 6 : I’m watching TV. Step II Presentation 1.

Show some pictures of our school to teach new words and phrases. What is he/she doing?

He/She is cleaning. What are they doing?

They are making soup. 1.

Finish the work in 1a. 2.

Game: quick eyes. This can consolidate the phrases and expressions. Step III Listening 1.

Te: There are many people in the picture. Some of them are talking about something. Let’s listen and find what they are doing. 2.

Listen to the recording again and fill in the blanks. 3.

Ask students to read the sentences together. Step IV Pair work 1.

Ask students to read the conversations in 1c together. 2.

Ask Ss to ask and answer the conversations according to the pictures in 1a. 3.

Play a game Ask one student to act out some phrases the teacher gives him/her, and let the other students guess with “Are you ….”
