Unit 9 Can you come to my party? Section B

本单元的主题是有关于邀请。它主要教授学生如何发出以及回复邀请，尤其是拒绝别人的邀请。与我们的日常生活息息相关，所以可以充分调动学生的学习兴趣。

【知识目标】

1、熟记并会用本课所学的新词汇；

2、学会发出邀请以及接受或拒绝邀请，并表明原因；

3、掌握情态动词can的用法。

【能力目标】

运用推测等阅读技巧，scanning等阅读策略，进行阅读训练，提高阅读水平。

【情感目标】

通过本节的学习，让学生知道如何接受及礼貌的拒绝别人的邀请。这会培养学生良好的言行举止。

【教学重点】

1、词汇: invitation, reply, forward, delete, print, sad, goodbye, look forward to, opening, concert, smartly, event, guest, calendar 2、句型：What’s the date today?

提高学生的听说读写能力，以及掌握情态动词can用来提出邀请的用法。

教学过程

Step1. Warm up Greet the class as usual and check the homework. Step2. Presentation 1.1a First let Ss look at the days of the week at the top of the calendar in the book. Then display a current wall calendar and ask a student to point out today’s date. Point to the numbers showing the dates of the current week and ask Ss to copy these numbers into the calendar in their books. Then ask different Ss to read each day’s date to the class. 2.1b Ask Ss to write these words below the correct dates on the calendar in 1a. 3.1c First, ask two Ss to read the dialogue in the speech bubble. Then have Ss work in pairs to make conversations. After they finish their practicing, point to different dates at random on the wall calendar and ask different Ss to speak out the dates. 4.1d Play the tape and ask Ss to finish this part. Then check the answers. 5.1e. Play it again and ask Ss to match the activities with the days. Finally, check the answers. 6.1f. Lead Ss to read the messages together, call attention to the pronunciation and tone. Explain some key words and expressions. Step3. Practice 1.Ask Ss to read the message again and answer the questions individually. Later, check the answers. 2.Ask Ss to complete the invitation with words and phrases

.Give Ss several minutes to do it. Then check the answers. 3.Divide Ss into pairs to plan a farewell party for their favorite teacher’s leaving.They can talk

about it using the given questions. Finally, invite several pairs to present their plans to see which party is more surprising and interesting. Step4. Consolidation 1.First, ask Ss to read the message to get the main idea and think about the answers to the questions. Give them several minutes to read and think about the questions. Then, invite some Ss to answer questions. 2.Give Ss enough time to write an invitation.

Later, invite several Ss to present their work. Choose the best written ones and praise the Ss. Step5.
