一．Teaching objectives 1.

Serbia is one of “ The Belt and Road” countries. Serbia and China have a good relation for many years.

Learn about the brief introduction of Serbia, the Belgrade Beer Fest, the Eating Habit in Serbia and the customs in Serbia. 2.

Ability objective

Improve students’ reading skills, the skimming and scanning skills.

Students can make a report about Serbia as the output and improve their ability of comprehensive language use . 3.

Emotional objectives Ss can understand and respect different culture in different countries. When in Rome, do as the Romans do.

Cultural awareness Ss can be aware of the importance of international communication and they can understand the difference between different cultures. 5.

二、Teaching key points 1.Learn about the beer fest, eating habit and customs in Serbia. 2.Ss can make a report about Serbia.

三．Teaching difficult points

Make a report about Serbia’s introduction, festival and eating habit.

四、Teaching Preparation Students：There are 48 students and they are divided into four groups. Teachers: PPT, reading materials and some gifts. 五、Teaching process Step1. Lead in Watch a video about Serbia.

Step 2 Pre-reading

1.The teacher will show a map about the Belt and Road country. 2.Show Ss the learning content. Step2. While-reading 1.

Skim passage1 Brief Introduction of Serbia and finish the task1: multiple choices.Ss are required to underline the key sentences that help them to find the answer.

Scan passage 2: The Festival in Serbia --- The Belgrade Beer Fest and finish the task2: fill in the blank. Before reading, the teacher will show some pictures about the beer fest. And then students are required to read the passage and finish the blank.

Scan passage 3: the Eating Habit in Serbia and finish the information card. Before reading, the teacher will show some pictures about the food in Serbia. And then Ss are required to read the passage and finish the information card.

Step4. Post-reading 1.

Task 4

Students are required to do the pair work and finish the mind map. 2.

Task 5 Make a report.

Step5. Summary and emotional education Send the winner group a little gift and tell them: in China, people can’t open the gift face to face but in Serbia, people should open it face to face and say thanks to others. There are many differences between different culture. We should respect different culture. When in Rome, do as the Romans do.

Step6 Homework 1.Read passage 4 about the customs in Serbia and finish task 6.

2.Tell what you learn about Serbia to your friend or your parents.
