1. soap opera soap opera，肥皂剧，很形象的名字，源于西方，是从英语传至中文的外来词汇，又称泡沫剧。通常指一出连续很长时间的、虚构的电视剧节目，因最初播放期间经常夹杂肥皂广告而得名

现在一般指的是家庭妇女一边做家务，一边心不在焉地收看的罗里啰嗦讲述家长里短的长篇连续剧。总结就是：soap opera是指“以家庭问题为题材的广播或电视连续剧”,它以家庭妇女为主要观众,以家庭日用品商家为赞助商,以普通家庭生活环境为舞台。

2. soap opera & sitcom 国内许多人认为国内风靡一时的《我爱我家》、《编辑部的故事》都可以拉入肥皂剧的范畴，但按照西方电视剧分类，严格上讲它们还是仅仅被定义为情境喜剧

(sitcom），

因为两部戏各集之间的故事关联不紧密，往往可以独立成章，而且最后一集都被安排了完美结局。而西方肥皂剧的特点则是偏向连续剧
