Step 1 Lead-in (2 mins) 1.1 Greetings T: Good morning, my dear students.

T: Do you know some Chinese special holidays?

Ss: Yes.

T: What are they?

Ss: The Spring Festival, The Lantern Festival, Qingming Festival, The Dragon Boat Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival.

Spring Festival is a special holiday in China. It always comes on lunar(阴历的) Jan,1st. It is a beginning of a new year, and people show greetings and best wishes to their relatives(亲戚) and friends. Little kids, especially boys always play fireworks. Chinese people usually have dumplings for breakfast on that day. First, mix together some meat pieces, vegetables, onions, salt and pepper. Next, fill the dumpling wrapper(饺子皮) with this meat mix. Then, put the dumplings in hot water and boil them for a few minutes. Finally, place the dumplings on a large plate and cover them with gravy. It’s time to eat now.
